Music fans! Have you ever wondered how local talents work together on a collaboration? It’s time to take a sit because you are about to explore the world of music from behind the scenes that are never talked about in a new reality show, Coke Studio which debuted last week Monday on e.tv
Coke Studio will let viewers see some of the best local musicians creating songs from scratch, coming up with the song structure, conceptualizing it, writing of the lyrics and working closely with a music producer to bring the idea to life.
Artists from different music genres will be paired up in the Coke Studio and given three days to create great tracks, fusing different music styles.
The episodes will focus on the interaction between the artists, the art of writing a song as well as the mixing recording and performing processes.
“We are pleased to partner with Coke Studio on this new, electrifying music reality show. As the entertainment destination of choice it is only fitting that we have a show that celebrates creative sounds created by top musicians from the continent. We believe that our viewers will enjoy Coke Studio, which showcases the wealth of musical talent Africa has to offer,” said Monde Twala, MD for e.tv Channels Division.
Top African artists such as Donald, Goodluck, Uhuru, Oliver Mtukudzi from Zimbabwe, Black Motion and Salma from Tanzania will be featured on the show.
The new artists from Coke Studio RAW will be given the opportunity to progress to the second phase where they’ll work with the big league music producers – should their demo song make the cut.
