Ladysmith Black Mambazo is hosting the 2nd annual Inanda Dam World Music Festival on Sunday, 29 March 2020 at Inanda Dam in KwaZulu- Natal. The festival is a fun-filled affair which will kick start the five-time Grammy Award-winning group’s 60 year celebrations.
The star-studded line-up includes Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Unathi, Vusi Nova, AKA, Mondli Ngcobo, Malini and Naima Kay. The tickets for the Inanda Dam World Music Festival are now available through Computicket.
“Inanda Dam World Music Festival begins the series of events planned for 2020, celebrating the legacy of the group’s founder, Professor Joseph Shabalala,” says Sibongiseni Shabalala of Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
At the Inanda Dam World Music Festival, The Ladysmith Black Mambazo Mobile Academy Hour will be held to launch and showcase the groups discovered through Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s nationwide talent search held in 2019. Groups include Di Teng Teng Happy Boys from Limpopo, Meduduetsane Basadi from Northern Cape, Afrika Mamas and Young Mbazo from KwaZulu-Natal and Mohlakeng Acapellas from the Free State.
Food and beverage stalls will be available on site. However, patrons are encouraged to bring along their camp chairs, umbrellas, gazebos, braai stands and picnic baskets to enjoy the fun-filled day of music.
